Planting a Home Based Business
All things grow the same way, and some with much better results. In nature the seed is carried to the soil through some sort of transport mechanism IE, wind, birds, etc. Once the seed is on the ground if it survives being eaten, dehydrated, or a host of other unfavorable conditions it will begin to grow. The garden is where the seed is given the very best chance of all with respect to soil conditions, water, and protection from predators.
Imagine your Home Based Business as a seed. Can you see the effort that is required to ensure its survival in even the best of times? How about in the worst of times? Do farmers give up when the going gets tough? Thank God they keep working hard and producing food for the rest of us that are removed from the land. So it should be with the Home Based Business hard work to produce a crop of success.
Forget the hype you hear today, it is the spawn of crafty thieves who would like you to believe you can get somewhere without any effort. Impossible!!! Einstein said it best with for every action there will be an equal and opposite reaction, so what you sow so will you reap. Sow seeds of effort for your business and in time they will grow. Water those seeds and they will flourish providing you have fertilized and removed the weeds.
The Home Based Business is not a get rich quick scheme by any means it is a education in time management, personal development, information technologies, psychology, sales, copywriting and all of their components. The Home Based Business is not for the lazy, faint of heart, or anyone who believes they are worth more than the product they themselves produce. That product in the Home Based Business is yourself and your ability to lead others on a path of successful behavior.
The garden analogy and the Home Based Business:
- Prepare the soil for planting the better you perform this function the better your results will be. Fertilizing the soil and removing stones will improve your chances of a good crop. In your Home Based Business this is done through the effort of building a business infrastructure that will sustain some kind of growth IE, payment systems, bookkeeping systems, information systems, follow up, and your education about your Home Based Business.
- Plant your seeds like others have before you to attain the very best results. Advertise regularly in places where your type of customer is looking and don’t get caught up in the crappy list building programs out there. If you have to open e-mails to get credits to send e-mails you are fighting a losing battle of addressing an audience that is already tired of e-mail. Advertise in places people are looking for your product and don’t waste time with schemes.
- Water your garden and fertilize regularly. Businesses are built on customers and nothing else. Without customers you have no business. A key point to remember with customers is many times they come back and purchase more if their first experience was positive. Never go for a sale you wouldn’t buy yourself, if you have purchased some crap don’t try to sell it to your customer. Selling is the name of the game but sell quality and quantity at the same time.
- Pull weeds on a regular basis. In business you will frequently be faced with a product or program that is just taking up time, these time wasters need to be pulled. Invest your time and money on things of value. By bringing value to yourself that value will be passed on to your customer and they will appreciate it.
- Harvest the crop. As success begins to push back the fear of failure and the money begins to roll in, it is time to give back. Invest in others less fortunate than yourself and in need. Give freely without regret and allow your Home Based Business to be a beacon of hope in some dark corner of this very big world.
The Home Based Business can be put to many analogies like the garden. It is my desire for whoever reads this to have real hope of building a successful Home Based Business. Consistent action with products of value will always produce results in time far greater than the results of the fly by night get rich quick club.
